Riverdale on the Rail show, 2017

Onstage at the G&S Lounge in Austin TX, March 2016, with Michael O’Connor (guitar) David Carroll (bass), watched by the brilliant and much-missed John Conquest (in the black shirt on the right). John wrote and published the essential 3rd Coast Music for more than 20 years; his death in August 2016 left a huge void in the Texas (and national) music scene. John was witty, discerning and fearless, and he was an encyclopedia of Texas music, and early rock and roll, and rockabilly, and Townes, and singer-songwriters, and more. He was a champion of female artists. And most of all, he was a blast to read. 3CM  arriving in the mailbox (and eventually, the inbox) each month always felt like Christmas in July.
